Calico Jack Coffee is run by a coffee loving couple Chris and Charisse Barbian, along with their successful “Emmy award winner in film editing” nephew Austin Barbian. Calico Jack has been a relentless pursuit of coffee perfection through a dedication to environmental, social, and fiscal sustainability and a commitment to creating cutting-edge coffee. We are very active in the coffee roasting community making our name known for our quality and passion. We were part of the Cleveland Roasters Club sharing our ideas and exchanging all of our knowledge with others across the globe. We are not in this business to create just coffee, we are in this business to bring the best coffee from the plantations to your cup. If you see us at a coffee convention, or just walking the streets (or beach), pull us aside and we'll talk coffee with you, it's what we do.
Christopher Barbian
Christopher Barbian was born in Northeastern Ohio in the area of numerous production wineries. His passion for the perfect sensory of taste followed him to the passion of coffee. He is an Engineer by trade and perfection by science is his way of life. That is how Calico Jack began, with the search for perfect tasting coffee. Wherever he travels to, he seeks out the best roasteries and coffee shops swopping ideas and learning to the path to the perfect cup of coffee. Challenges are what Chris is familiar with having beat THREE Stage 4 cancers that taught him the quality value of life. Having Stage 4 throat cancer and surviving, then a challenge of dealing with Stage 4 lung cancer followed yet another Stage 4 Osteosarcoma cancer. Never giving up, never giving in, he fights everyday not so much for himself, but for those who learn from him. Chris hopes to generate a business that can give back to the cancer community for research and development to beat this life changing disease. His passions are God, his family, and friends. His hobbies are staying active with Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Surfing, building custom Harley Davidsons, and being the best husband to his wife and dad to his kids.

Charisse Barbian
Charisse Barbian was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in northeast Ohio settling down in it’s wine country. She is a barista by trade who loves talking coffee and working directly with people. She began her coffee adventures in the heart of Cleveland’s many coffee shops between doctor appointments for her husband Chris’s several different battles with cancer. The love of Calico Jack Coffee grew from her natural passion of owning and operating her own video store business for twenty plus years prior in her younger days. She has learned so much about coffee from participating in roasting, cupping, and creating delicious cups of coffee alongside her husband and nephew’s coffee explorations. She enjoys tasting and finding the right taste notes for each roast and blend. Her hobbies include reading, writing poetry, walking her dogs, and mainly spending quality time with her two children and husband. You’ll find her coffee shop hopping on a regular basis trying all the new flavors while getting to know all the coffee shop owners and baristas.
